National 4/5 Biology
As part of the senior phase pupils can study towards National 4 and National 5 qualifications in Biology.
These courses continue to build on the foundations laid in the S3 Biology course and covers majors aspects of Biology, from cellular biology through the biology of whole orgamisms and that of environments and ecosystems.
Key areas from previous years study are developed further including cells, body systems, inheritance, biodiversity and interdependence.
National 4 Biology consists of 3 units; Cell Biology, Multicellular Organisms and Life on Earth, along with an added value unit which brings together an integration of the skills and knoweldge that have been gained during the course.
National 5 Biology is once again three units; Cell Biology, Multicellular Organisms and Life on Earth, accompanied by an assignment bringing together the skills gained within the course and a final examination.
